What it is
SovGRID provides the protection, switching, relaying, and metering layer that connects SovGEN and SovSTOR output to the customer’s behind-the-meter load bus. The platform is built to IEEE 1547-2018 interconnection and interoperability standards, includes substation-grade protective relaying, and supports optional export to the distribution grid where customer interconnection agreements permit.
WattTime’s MOER-based carbon intensity data layer integrates at the metering point, generating an NZe-certified carbonstamp per MWh consumed — a verified, third-party-attested avoided-emissions record that supports customer carbon accounting and net-zero reporting. NVIDIA DSX AI Factory architects have validated the load interface requirements at the SovGRID delivery point.

Per-MWh avoided-emissions attestation at the SovGRID meter
How it fits
SovGRID receives generation from SovGEN, draws on SovSTOR for transient support, and delivers conditioned power to the AI factory load — including the SovCOOL thermal systems. It is the single point of integration between the generation and storage stack and the compute infrastructure the customer is energizing.
Scotty dispatches against SovGRID metering data in real time, optimizing the generation mix, storage dispatch, and carbon position simultaneously. The MOER signal at the SovGRID meter tells Scotty the marginal emissions rate of the local grid at every moment — enabling dispatch decisions that minimize the site’s carbon position per MWh consumed, and producing the NZe carbonstamp that WattTime certifies.

Standards & compliance
IEEE 1547-2018
Standard for interconnection and interoperability of distributed energy resources with associated electric power systems interfaces. Primary governing standard for the SovGRID delivery point.
IEEE C37 Series
Protective relaying standards. Governs SovGRID’s substation-grade protection systems, relay settings, and coordination studies.
ANSI/IEEE C57
Transformer standards. Applicable where step-up or step-down transformers are included in the SovGRID delivery configuration.
NERC FAC / PRC
Applicable reliability standards for behind-the-meter resources. Governs facility rating, protection, and control requirements where customer interconnection agreements reference NERC standards.
NEC Article 705
Interconnected electric power production sources. National Electrical Code article governing wiring methods, overcurrent protection, and disconnecting means for the SovGRID installation.
WattTime NZe Protocol
Per-MWh avoided-emissions attestation. Third-party NZe certification issued at the SovGRID metering point, based on MOER-signal dispatch data from Scotty.
